entrepreneurs: beat procrastination in 2024

12/30/2023

Several things must happen if you want to beat procrastination and get hustling in 2024. Understanding why you procrastinate is the first step. Procrastination is a behavior caused by the stress in our lives or the unfounded negative beliefs we have about ourselves. Most often procrastination is thought to be laziness, but in reality it could be fear of failure, perfectionism or even fear of success. Once we uncover which deep-rooted negative beliefs are holding us back, we can make a change by recognizing and releasing them. You can do this by affirming a positive belief in it's place. For instance, if you are a perfectionist with a fear of rejection, you can state "I don't have to be perfect to be accepted. I am enough the way I am." Or if you have a fear of success, you can state "It's ok for me to succeed! My success is my divine birthright." Once you recognize the root cause, you can tackle it effectively.

Let's look at other ways we can tackle procrastination in 2024...

Always Break It Down
A big task can seem daunting. A sense of overwhelm can create procrastination all by itself. It's important to break down tasks and divide them into smaller, more manageable tasks. Completing each one will give you a sense of accomplishment, which ignites motivation.

Use The "2-Minute Rule"
If it takes less than 2 minutes, do it now. For bigger tasks, just start- often, that's the hardest part.

Eliminate Distractions
Clear your workspace. Use apps like "Forest" or "Focus@Will" to maintain concentration. Set specific periods to check your phone or social media. Using a time management skill, like "time blocking", is a great way to block specific time slots out of your day for different tasks. This helps you focus on completing what you need done. After each block, give yourself 5 minutes to check social media/emails/calls.

Prioritize Tasks
Not all tasks are of equal importance. Use the Eisenhower Box or the ABCD priority system to determine what needs immediate attention. This helps prevent time being wasted on tasks that can wait. Hitting the important tasks first will also fuel the sense of accomplishment and make it easier to finish the smaller ones off as well.

Reward Yourself
Set up a reward system. For instance, after working diligently for an hour, take a 10-minute break. Or after completing a project, reward yourself with a small gift- could be a night at the movies or a trip to your favorite store or restaurant.

Visualize The End Result
Feel the satisfaction and relief you have once the task is done. It may seem cheesy, but this impresses upon the quantum realm that it is already finished! Ideas will come to you freely and you will be guided by intuition on what exactly needs to be done.

Have An Accountability Partner
Share your goals with a trusted friend or partner/spouse. Someone whom you know will support your goals & help you stay on track with regular check-ins.

Set Deadlines
Even if one doesn't exist, creating a personal deadline can instill a sense of urgency.

Make a Mindset Shift
Change your language. Instead of saying "I have to", say "I choose to".  This simple switch empowers you, reminding you it's a choice, not an obligation.

Remember... You have what it takes!

Your dreams, vision and goals are no accident. If you have been given a desire to start a business, write a book, start investing, or any other career goals, you can bet that is the part of you that's connected to your divine purpose in life. This "higher self" continually feeds you inspiration towards your highest ideals. Your job is to uncover what's keeping you from progressing. Some people call this shadow work- bringing to light the negative beliefs held within the psyche that manifest as anxiety, fear, lack of focus and stress.

So what's it going to be? What is holding you back, my friend? Raise your hand if you're a perfectionist? Raise your hand if you fear failure or not being good enough? How about if you fear success? Do you fear being seen & heard?  What if they all intertwine, creating habitual procrastination and self-doubt? This is a part of the journey, uncovering the truth of what keeps you from reaching your goals in life.

Confront the dragon, get the gold.
Begin now. Sit down and write out which beliefs are holding you back. Then deep-dive into why you hold that belief. If you need a guide to help you, I highly recommend this book below. You can also check out this website below for 50 prompts to conquer your fear of success.

Prioritize Work with the Eisenhower Matrix Template

12/29/2023

Sometimes you can’t do it all—and that’s ok. Being successful is more about prioritization than tackling every single task on your to-do list. With the right prioritization techniques, you can tackle the most critical tasks first, schedule others for later, then delegate and delete the rest. It’s a win-win—the important things still get done, but you don’t burn yourself out in the process.

An Eisenhower Matrix template makes time management simple. You can use it every day, every week, or whenever your to-do list feels out of control.

What is an Eisenhower Matrix? An Eisenhower Matrix is a prioritization tool that helps you organize tasks by urgency and importance. It outlines specific actions to take depending on where a task falls within the quadrants of the priority matrix:
  • Urgent and important: Do
  • Urgent but not important: Delegate
  • Not urgent but important: Schedule
  • Not urgent and not important: Delete
When your to-do list feels overwhelming, the Eisenhower Matrix shows you which tasks to work on first—plus how to divide and conquer everything else.
Picture
What is an Eisenhower Matrix template? An Eisenhower Matrix template is a reusable guide that lets you quickly create an Eisenhower Matrix whenever you need to prioritize your task list. If you want to create a matrix every morning or at the start of each week, no problem—just copy the template, add your tasks, and start prioritizing. Having a pre-built template means you don’t have to waste time setting up your Eisenhower Matrix over and over again. Instead, you can just fill in the blanks and follow a predefined workflow to prioritize each task.
The benefits of a digital Eisenhower Matrix templateAn Eisenhower Matrix is supposed to simplify task management, not create more work for you to do. But luckily, creating your matrix in a digital form means you don’t have to mess around with spreadsheets or manually copy your task list each time. Instead, you can just add your tasks to the matrix, select their urgency and importance, and drag and drop them into the right section. And if priorities change later on, you can easily update your matrix in real time instead of re-copying the entire thing.
With a digital Eisenhower Matrix template, you can:
  • Simplify decision-making by following a predefined task prioritization process.
  • Quickly add tasks to your Eisenhower Matrix template instead of copying to-do’s over again.
  • See a single source of truth for each task—the to do’s in your matrix aren’t duplicates, they live in your task list and your matrix at the same time.
  • Add contextual information, documents, images, or videos to each task.
  • Share your matrix with project stakeholders to illustrate how you’re prioritizing work.
  • Set due dates for tasks you’re delegating or scheduling for later.
  • Drag and drop tasks into different sections of your matrix.
  • Easily update your matrix if priorities change later on.
How to create a digital Eisenhower Matrix templateAt its most basic, your Eisenhower Matrix template should have space to track the following information about each task:
  • Urgency: Urgent or not urgent
  • Importance: Important or not important
  • Recommended action: Do, delegate, schedule, delete
The best way to do this is by adding two custom tags to your template—one for urgency and one for importance. This allows you to quickly select and see the urgency and importance of each task. Then, create sections in your template for each recommended action: Do, delegate, schedule, or delete. Once you select the urgency and importance of each task, you can drag and drop it into the right section.
Integrated features
  • Add tasks to multiple projects. The nature of work is cross-functional. Teams need to be able to work effectively across departments. But if each department has their own filing system, work gets stalled and siloed. Asana makes it easy to track and manage tasks across multiple projects. This doesn't just reduce duplicative work and increase cross-team visibility. It also helps your team see tasks in context, view who’s working on what, and keep your team and tasks connected.
  • Custom fields. Custom fields are the best way to tag, sort, and filter work. Create unique custom fields for any information you need to track—from priority and status to email or phone number. Use custom fields to sort and schedule your to-dos so you know what to work on first. Plus, share custom fields across tasks and projects to ensure consistency across your organization.
  • List View. List View is a grid-style view that makes it easy to see all of your project’s information at a glance. Like a to-do list or a spreadsheet, List View displays all of your tasks at once so you can not only see task titles and due dates, but also view any relevant custom fields like Priority, Status, or more. Unlock effortless collaboration by giving your entire team visibility into who’s doing what by when.
  • Start dates. Sometimes you don’t just need to track when a to-do is due—you also need to know when you should start working on it. Start times and dates give your team members a clear sense of how long each task should take to complete. Use start dates to set, track, and manage work to align your team's objectives and prevent dependencies from falling through the cracks.
Recommended apps
  • Gmail. With the Asana for Gmail integration, you can create Asana tasks directly from your Gmail inbox. Any tasks you create from Gmail will automatically include the context from your email, so you never miss a beat. Need to refer to an Asana task while composing an email? Instead of opening Asana, use the Asana for Gmail add-on to simply search for that task directly from your Gmail inbox.
  • Outlook. As action items come in via email, like reviewing work from your agency or a request for design assets from a partner, you can now create tasks for them in Asana right from Outlook. You can then assign the new task to yourself or a teammate, set a due date, and add it to a project so it’s connected to other relevant work.
  • Google Workplace. Attach files directly to tasks in Asana with the Google Workplace file chooser, which is built into the Asana task pane. Easily attach any My Drive file with just a few clicks.
  • Slack. Turn ideas, work requests, and action items from Slack into trackable tasks and comments in Asana. Go from quick questions and action items to tasks with assignees and due dates. Easily capture work so requests and to-dos don’t get lost in Slack.
How to use your Eisenhower Matrix templateOnce you create your template, using it is simple. Here’s how:
  1. Make a copy of your Eisenhower Matrix template.
  2. Add each task in your to-do list to the template.
  3. Select the urgency and importance of each task. If you’re not sure how to distinguish between urgent tasks and important tasks, check out our Eisenhower Matrix article.
  4. Drag and drop each task into its respective section: Do, delegate, schedule, or delete.
  5. Update the due date and assignee of each task according to the action you’ve selected.
FAQs
Where does the name “Eisenhower Matrix” come from?

The Eisenhower Decision Matrix got its name from the 34th President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower. In a 1954 speech, Eisenhower famously said, “I have two kinds of problems: the urgent and the important. The urgent are not important, and the important are never urgent.” Many decades later, self-help author Stephen Covey took the former president’s words and used them to develop the popular time management tool we use today.

Do I need an Eisenhower Matrix template?

If you want an efficient way to organize and tackle your to-do list, an Eisenhower Matrix template can help. The template makes it easy to decide how to deal with each task—so you don’t have to worry about which to-do’s to tackle first. It gives you a logical process and roadmap to follow whenever you have a long list of tasks and need to prioritize your to-do list.

How often should I use an Eisenhower Matrix template?

You can use an Eisenhower Matrix template whenever you want to prioritize your to-do list. The frequency you choose depends on how often new tasks come in. For example, if you get lots of new assignments each day, you may want to create an Eisenhower Matrix every morning. If you receive assignments less frequently, once per week might work better.

Who should I share my Eisenhower Matrix template with?

If you’re a manager, share your Eisenhower Matrix template with your team members to help them divide and conquer their tasks. That way, everyone can follow the same prioritization process—and you can make sure your team is working in the most efficient way possible. Plus, prioritization is a great way to avoid overwork and burnout on your team.

9 Big Benefits of Private Plane Hire

10/11/2023

Have you ever packed up your bags and headed out to the airport hours before your flight because you were heading to an international destination only to get through the lengthy line-ups to discover your flight is delayed, putting you behind schedule? You don’t have to encounter this kind of scenario if you book a private jet. In fact, a private plane hire will almost always depart on time and on your schedule.

Benefit #1: Fly in One of the Safest Aircraft in the Skies

Picture
When you book a charter airplane with a reputable broker, you’ll find yourself flying on one of the safest aircraft in the air. Most charter broker companies adhere to rigid safety procedures and protocols to ensure the aircraft they book are safe.
Before you book with a charter company, ask them what safety policies they have in place. You’ll want to make sure they are:
  • An ARGUS-certified broker
  • An Air Charter Safety Foundation Member
  • Working with air carriers that undergo third-party safety audits often
  • Committed to aviation excellence
  • Maintaining their own insurance coverage
If you find an unreasonably low-priced charter, be extra cautious. This could mean that the aircraft hasn’t passed through the rigorous safety standards you should expect.

Benefit #2: You Set Your Preferred Schedule

Picture
If you’re in the business of booking chartered aircraft, you’re likely on a tight schedule. If commercial airlines have put you behind schedule far too many times, a private plane hire is worth the extra costs.
When you book a private jet charter, your private flight advisor will ask you where you’re going and when you want to go. Not only do you get to choose which airport you arrive at, landing as close to your destination as possible, you’ll get to pick the day you fly and the time of day you prefer to leave.
And since it’s your personal jet rental, you won’t have to wait for other passengers or aircraft delays caused by earlier flights getting behind in their schedules.

Benefit #3: Less Interaction with Other Travelers

Picture
In recent months, this benefit has risen to the top of reasons why people prefer to fly private. With a private plane hire, you can choose to depart from a smaller, less active airport, keeping you distanced from other travelers and airport personnel.
If you do have to depart from an international airport, however, you’ll likely depart from a fixed-base operator (FBO) and not the main airport terminal. FBOs are much less busy, reducing your likelihood of encountering those outside of your family, friend or work groups.

Benefit #4: Improve In-flight Efficiency & Privacy

Picture
If you’re traveling for work-related purposes, you likely have work to do before and after you flight. However, if you’re flying via private jet, you can work in flight efficiently and seamlessly. Since more aircraft are equipped with in-flight connectivity, you can schedule conference calls, online meetings, and so much more.
If you’re traveling with your team, you can request an aircraft with boardroom functionality so you and your team can spend the duration of the flight comfortably working together in the privacy of your own cabin.

Benefit #5: Discover the Comfort & Lavish Luxury of a Private Cabin

Picture
If you’ve got a long flight ahead of you, or a short one, a private jet can come with some pretty amazing amenities to keep you luxuriously comfortable for the entire flight. Some of the more popular amenities include:
  • Master bedroom
  • Separate spaces
  • Full reclinable/berthable seats
  • A full-service galley kitchen
  • Bathroom with shower
  • State-of-the-art entertainment systems, and more

Benefit #6: Enjoy Endless Dining Options

Picture
First-class fare can be delicious depending on which airline you choose to fly with, but it’s nothing compared to what you can enjoy on a private plane hire. You can choose to order anything you’d like. Craving Taco Bell thanks to your current pregnancy? It’ll be waiting for you on your aircraft. Prefer a fully customized charcuterie board with a bottle of Dom Perignon? You can also have that brought in for you. When you fly privately, the in-flight catering options are endless.

Benefit #7: Leave the Layovers to Commercial Flyers

Picture
Unless you’d like one, you can skip unnecessary layovers when you opt for a private plane hire. Since you’re in charge of your schedule, you get to say where your hired aircraft stops, and unless you need to make a stop at an airport along the way, there’s likely no reason for a layover of any kind.

Benefit #8: Choose Your Travel Companions

Picture
A private plane booking gives you the opportunity to choose who you travel with since you’ll be renting the entire aircraft. Aside from choosing the crew, it’s up to you who travels in the aircraft. It’s important to note that depending on the size of your aircraft, there may be limits on passenger capacity.
For example, an ultra long-range jet, like the Global Express 5000, can accommodate up to 19 passengers comfortably while a turboprop aircraft, like the Beechcraft King Air 200, can accommodate approximately six passengers.
are one of your favorite travel buddies covered in fur? Traveling via private jet is so much more convenient, especially for your pets. Instead of stowing them under the seat or in the cargo hold, your pet can rest comfortably on your lap or the seat beside you and wander around the cabin as it pleases while in-flight.

Benefit #9: Access Additional Travel Services

Picture
Are you looking for transportation arrangements to and from the airport or a car rental once you arrive at your destination? With a private plane hire, you typically have the ability to arrange additional concierge services to make your trip as smooth as possible.
